Reiki: Benefits & Our Mission


Reiki originated from Japan in 1922 by Japanese Buddisht Mikao Usui.  Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things.  The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”.  It is the belief that a person’s “ki” or energy should be free flowing.  When the "ki" is blocked it can lead to physical and emotional imbalances but when this "ki" flows freely there is balance and harmony within and around us, providing sense of well being.  Reiki is used to relax and restore which can assist in physical and emotional healing.  It is not a cure for illness and/or disease and should not replace Tradional Medicine.


Our Reiki Masters use this technique as a tool to assist the client in stress reduction and relaxation.  We offer 30 minute or 60 minute sessions.  During the session the client is fully clothed and lying on their back on a massage table.  The practitioner uses a gentle touch and/or the hands off method, where the hands are just off the body, to perform the energy work.  The client my feel a warm sensation or tingling.  The session should be very pleasent and relaxing.


Our mission in providing the Reiki Technique is to assist the client with relaxation and stress reduction to better their personal wellness and restore harmony in the mind and body.
